I recently tried to hook up a hotmail account into mozilla's thunderbird software and don't understand a thing about the server or something. Could someone help me? it says like outgoing server and incoming server information i need and whether its pop3 or imag or something like that. Please someone help me.
First - have you been here?

And know where it is for your future use. Skim through it, you might find something similar to your problems, already mentioned.

Getting Hotmail working with Thunderbird is not hard. I can say that, because I did it.
I don't use Hotmail all that often, but in T-Bird I try to click on Get Mail on my hotmail account occasionally, just as a matter of principle.
On the few occasions that I have used it, it works fine.
I'm using an old version of T-Bird, and the corresponding old versions of the Webmail extension. I got them from the site I directed you to above, and followed the instructions there.
