Sound slows down?
« on: August 18, 2007, 03:12:46 PM »
Hello! This is my first post here, which is probably apparent from my post count. :)

I've been having this problem for weeks now, and can't find a way to solve it.

I am using an HP Pavilion DV6000, Windows XP, (if additional information is required please tell me :) ) and the problem is that when I am watching videos, or listening to music, after a minute or so (mostly shorter) the sound starts to slow down - it becomes sluggish and in slow-motion. ???

Please help.
Thanks!

ok does the entire movie slow down... or
does the sound not match up with the picture? like you see dog bark...2 seconds pass......you hear it?
    i run 7 different screens with 7 different towers(SYNERGY)
    1. always test the ram
    2. switch graphics cards
    3. run your virus scans
    4. mix and match parts
    5. just because it was thrown out doesn't mean it's all bad
    somethings broken/They think it's slow(Reinstall windows)

Are u watching a DVD? a video clip? whats running in the background (in terms of processes) when you are doing that?

Go to Start>run and type msconfig then go to startup tab and uncheck anything that u dont want to start at every bootup. Make sure also that when ur watching a video, that u dont have anything else running that demands alot of cpu power. When did u notice this happening btw?
