Internet fails when watching videos

Whenever I go to watch a flash video (something from youtube, google video, vimeo etc..) the video either loads somewhat, or doesn't load at all and then my internet connection fails.  Other time I'll be lucky and the video will actually load but the majority of the time it causes the internet to fail.  The only way to solve this is to resest the internet connection which is a big pain.  I searched all over google and couldn't find anything so any advice would be great apprieciated.

What browser (and version) are you using?
Also, what OS are you using.

Another thing, is what service pack?

it causes the internet to fail

what  do you mean exactly? do you mean that a pop up window comes up and says that internet explorer (or whatever browser) has encountered an internal error and must shutdown or something?

I'm using the firefox 2.0.0.6 version on Mac OS X 10.4.10. What happens I go to watch the video and either some or none of the video will load and then it wont tell me that my internet has failed but I can't receive IMs or view web pages.  I'm not really sure what service pack means so I'd love for someone to tell me.

I'm using a wireless connection with a linksys router.  When I go to watch the video, it usually doesn't load and then any other page or program that requires the internet does not work.  I think it has to do with my router because I can choose what network to connect to and theres two options (linksys and some other network), but when I choose to connect to the other network that isn't linksys, everything runs smooth.

Try going to one of those videos. When the internet shuts down, do this...

I hope this works on a Mac. I try to stay away from them  Anyways, if I'm wrong, someone reword it please...

Got to start/Run and type in "cmd".
Then, type "ping www.google.com". See what happens.

My ISP is optonline and I'm not sure how to do Start>run because I just switched to a Mac about a week ago and I love it.

rasilun's instructions are for a computer running Windows 2000/XP/Vista. I don't know the equivalent OS X command but just that his instructions wont work.
