    usb flash drive problem?

       MY usb Flash drive cant open after recognised by the system(XP).On trying to open it,it reports,"Disk not formatted,format,yes or no"on clicking yes,it says,"Windows cant format  this disk!"
         pls can one get any free software that can repair usb flash drive related problems.If yes,i'll like to know the the site.
     I'll realy apprecite any help.

    If you type the name of the flash drive problem into google you may be able to find the drivers you need

    XP doesn't require flash drive drivers...

    Is it new ? ?
    Is there info on there you need ? ?
    Have you tried it on another machine ? ?

    Try MS USB Flash Drive Manager:

    Use the properties tab to view and change settings. Incidentally some of these devices have a locking switch on the case, check to see if it is locked.
