Sony VAIO PCG-VX71P CMOS
« on: August 30, 2007, 07:39:37 AM »
I recently got this old laptop from a friend,, I know what the problem is but I can't seem to find the CMOS battery to fix it.

Does anybody know where the CMOS battery is on this model? I have taken most of it apart and there doesn't seem to be a CMOS battery although I know there is one on it somewhere, I need to replace it.

I use Google a lot when asking questions, I rarely resort to asking on forums unless I have practically searched everything I can, Googling doesn't do much good for this laptop

And looking on the manufactures site would be the first thing I would do.

This laptop has an Intel Pentium 3 processor running at 850MHz. which means it left sony's site ages ago, hence I am asking here.  8)

Here are its specs for anyone who is curious.

Try Here

But instead of entering the info you have posted here use the info on the service tag thats on the machine.
This contains alot more info including date of manufacture etc.

Hope this helps.
