Windows XP chkdsk and reinstall
« on: September 01, 2007, 05:00:21 PM »
the system was giving me problems, booted fine but desktop only showed background image not the icons or start menu....  so a long process followed but essentially I ran chkdsk /r  twice and succeeded in a reinstall (without formatting) of the win xp

now when I try to boot i get to that first blue screen before logging on and it hangs, goes very slow to configure settings, etc etc whatever it says when it goes through that.... very slow like 25-30 min.  Can someone help me I think it may be I need to shutoff the stuff that automatically starts like the antivirus and messengers etc.

This may sound silly but did you remember to re-install the MBoard drivers after the re-install ? ?
