    sempron vs athlon

    I was wondering if there is big difference in performance between:
    Amd Sempron 2800+ and AMD Athlon 2700++.
    Would it be worth upgrading?

    Nothing you will notice...

    IMHO...If your motherboard supports it...I'd recommend a Pentium 4 processor over both of those AMD CPUs.

      I've never seen a motherboard that supports both an AMD processor and an Intel one ?  Did I miss something ?

      Maybe I should clarify myself...

      If you're upgrading from one AMD to the other...you really won't notice much of a difference.

      However, if you have, or wish to purchase a new motherboard...P4 would be the better choice over those AMD processors.

        I just wanted to get quick and cheep fix, but I will be switching to Intel soon. I am going to build new system with one of Core 2 Duo processors probablly E6850.
