For some reason after i log onto my computer i have about a few seconds to open the start menu and open something then it disappears with everything on the desktop also can anyone help me

    What operating system do you have? What protection (antivirus, antispyware, etc.) do you have? How long has this been going on?

    i have windows xp service pack 2 and i have norton antivirus it's been going on for a few days now and i don't know what to do

      Is your Norton updated? Did you install anything new before this started happening?

      Norton is updated and i downloaded  sbc cd thing twice and my mom downloaded some pictures or something from a website

      i have a home built computer i have a brand new hard drive i just used uploaded the cd for high speed yahoo dsl and it wouldn't let me use the start menu and the bar for more than a few seconds
