automated software installation
« on: October 09, 2007, 04:21:10 PM »
I've heard that there are ways to automate the installation of software so that you don't have to click next a dozen times and accept a license agreement (you wouldn't even have to be at the computer), but I don't know where to begin in searching for how to do it.
Anyone know how this is done?
Links? Tutorials?
Thanks. :)

Thanks. I already knew it was possible. The question was how it's done, not if it's done.

Even, if it is possible, it wouldn't be too smart, because you really want to know, what EXACTLY is installing on your computer.
Custom install is always the best way to go.

Thanks for the link, but from what I've read I got the impression that it was more of a script, than a program.

It's not always the best way to go. If I have 50 computers in three buildings that I'm trying install Adobe Reader onto, it really isn't very efficient to go to each and every one to click next 8 times. It would take a full shift to do it. And then, when an update is available for Snagit the next week, there goes another day.
