    « on: September 17, 2007, 08:45:19 AM »
I have recently bought pentium d core processor and intel 945gcnl motherboard.

I had repartitioned and reformatted my ATA hard disk.

But when now I boot my computer, a blank screen comes and shows "disk error, no bootable device, click here to restart.

Ok, we are going to need more info.  What did you reformat it to?  Did you format it to NTFS?  When you reformatted it did you reinstall an OS (Operating System)?  Can you list the specs of your computer?  Thanks.

      There is no OS installed.
Boot to the Windows CD of your chioce and follow the setup instructions...
When you partition/format a HDD everything is gone.

Yes if you have not installed an operating system, the computer will post, then stop because it is looking for an operating system to load. naturally it checks in what ever order you have chosen in your BIOS. Ex. Floppy Drive,HDD, CD Drive.

to solve it,go into bios, set the 1st boot into disc drive then insert windows disc (if your pc spec can support windows xp,go for it)then follow the installation guide.
