No Folder Access - On Administrator Account?
« on: September 22, 2007, 06:12:45 PM »
Hi,

I am running Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 2, and lately, I have being experiencing real trouble with it. This wouldn't of happened if I didn't install that VistaXP theme. First, Windows would start popping up the search dialog box every time I opened a folder.

So that was fixed, after I really messed things up. Unfortunately Microsuck Microsoft just wanted to make a profit by using "Pay-us-and-shut-your-mouth" support.

Whenever I open a folder, it will say something like:

"C:\WINDOWS. Access is Denied."

What?!?!?!

My permissions are correct. The stupid thing just doesn't let me in!

Knock Knock, it's John! Come on, LET ME IN!

I forgot to create a restore point this month, so I can't use system restore.

So what can I do?

Dusty

Try taking ownership of the folders - see kb308421

One good deed is worth more than a year of good intentions.
