HD detected by Linux but not Windows
« on: September 22, 2007, 07:47:07 AM »
Title is pretty much self-explanatory. I cannot see my hard drive on Windows, but I can see it on Linux. I am running on Windows XP SP2, and the drive is a SATA 120gb drive. I have checked all the connectors already, and they are on in the correct place. Thanks for reading.

If the drive has a Linux OS or it is partitioned for Linux i don't believe it will be visible to Windows. They are 2 different beasts.
But if you visit some Linux Forums i'll bet there are free tools that will accomplish this...

Well I used to be able to see the drive on Windows, until I uninstalled Windows, installed Linux, uninstalled Linux, and finally reinstalled Windows.

I would start over...

Windows should go first.
Are these seperate physical drives or just 2 partitions ? ?
Remember you need to use the Linux tools to completely wipe the Linux partition properly.

p.s. What were you using for your bootloader ?

I no longer have Linux. I currently have two drives. None are partitioned, and I'm pretty sure both are Windows partitions. I think.

Being vague with replies is getting us nowhere...
What do you have currently ??
What do you want to accomplish ? ?

You are bumping a thread that contains only conditions...not goals.

Okay sorry. All I have right now are Windows XP, two hard drives, one with Windows, the other with movies and music. I would like to see the drive with my media.
