Recently i downloaded this software called UnFREEz , It helps in making moving images , but it says that i can use only GIF images in it!!
I dont know what these GIF images are exactly (i know they are animated images )or how to create them , i was hoping to use my self created images in this software but it wont accept Bitmap images or even JPEG images.

Is there a way to create my own GIF images?or is there a better software that i can download?
Please help me .

Photoshop works, if you have it. Insert each "frame" of the animated GIF as new layers, with the first frame on the bottom and the last one on the top. Go to Save, selevt CompuServe GIF (*.gif), and check "layers as frames".

If you don't have Photoshop, you can use a trial of Ulead GIF Animator - I haven't tried it, but it should work. I don't think there's anything good out there that's free, though.

Wont anything but GIF images work? like my own created paintings etc..do i need only GIF images and if yes how do i create them?

In Photoshop, you can use any image as the "frames" - jpg, gif, png, etc.

Like so:

Notice, on the right, that each image is its own layer. The result, when saved, becomes an animated GIF file (assuming you click the proper checkmark) and converts all the frames into GIF. But, as you're placing in the files, any format may be used - jpg, png, etc. However, the end result will be a .gif.

Dilbert i clicked on http://www.download.com/Ulead-GIF-Animator/3000-2186_4-5422267.html, and downloaded it but when the download was complete , i tried to run this , but a message was displayed saying this c:document ....is not valid or somthing, i tried to search for the program later but nothing was found in the search.
Now im confused. please help.

Hm... doesn't work for me either. D'oh, that'll teach me to check before I link.

Another free alternative to Photoshop, which I know works, is the GIMP: http://www.gimp.org/

Ivy you can open your JPGs or BMPs in Paint or almost any paint type program then select File>Save As> the format of your choosing, IE GIF.

Dilbert, have you actually created an animated gif with gimp? I haven't figured out much more than single image editing with gimp. Not sure even where to start.

That tutorial is for UNIX. Axe the "start by typing gimp bit, and it's for Windows too.
