Post info on your system including system specs and what version of windows you're running.
Do you get any error messages when the game exits?
Is your windows and drivers updated?

What about your processor and graphics card?

If you're unsure about what hardware you've got then do this:
From the start menu select Run...
      type dxdiag and press enter
Press the "Save all information..." button
Save the text file somewhere you can find it again.
You can then attach the text file to a reply in this thread.

To attach a file make a new reply and press "Additional Options..."

You also didn't mention whether XP is fully updated through Windows/Microsoft Update and if you've downloaded the latest drivers for you hardware.

Yeah got almost everything now. :)
I still need to know the name of your graphics card.
In the Dxdiag text file you created. There is a section called
        Code: [Select]
        ---------------
        Display Devices
        ---------------
Find where it says "Card name:" and post that name here.
Do the same for "Display Memory" and "Driver Version".

          Brilliant.

I forgot to ask, have you downloaded the latest update for the game?
If not you can do so here:
          ftp://ftp.ea.com/pub/eapacific/lotr/lotrbfme/LotrBfMe-101-english.exe

If this doesn't fix it I suggest you get the latest drivers for your graphics card.
          Get it here.
Be sure to read the installation instructions first.
