Windows Media Player (Vista OS) won't play cd's

I tried to play a new cd today (WMP is version 11).  An error message states that WMP cannot access the file. The file might be in use, or I might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or my proxy setting might not be correct. Huh?  I tried another cd, same message.  Has someone been fooling around with my laptop?  This is a new and frustrating development.  Help!

how about the other players such as real one, winamp, power dvd?
are they work?
try installing back the windows media player if the others fine
