Windows Media Player Or Sun Java Problem?
    « on: September 29, 2007, 05:18:31 PM »
I play a Java based game called RuneScape, and I listen to music while playing. I usually keep Windows Media Player 9 minimized.

When ever a song ends, and it's switching to the next song, it will lag RuneScape and Windows Media Player. My RuneScape character freezes on screen while the first 10 seconds of the song I'm listening to plays. Then my character unfreezes, and I hear the first 10 seconds of the song again.

It just started happening on my PC. I've had this problem before on another computer, but I wasn't playing RuneScape.

My computer's specs are: Windows XP, Pentium 4, 512MB RAM, 200GB Hdd. I use NOD32, my hard drive is no where near full, I defrag regularly, I'm using the most recent version of Java, and I haven't run check disk.

I like Windows Media Player better than WinAmp though WMP causes nothing but problems here. I've had to deal with the newest version of WMP turning my entire screen black and white because it didn't support my video card, then I couldn't uninstall WMP because System Restore must be turned on while installing to revert back to WMP 9, then I've had the problem I'm having now twice both on different computers. I like the organization of WMP, but the headaches make it not worth using. It has all my songs listed and named correctly on the side. Other music players, like WinAmp, use more resources, and they only lists only the first few songs being played. I like the big list in WMP. So, does anyone know a good music player?

Do you have a stereo in your room ? ?
Gaming and video are the most demanding processes a computer does...
Put the CD in the stereo...and game to your heart's content.

Then give it a try :-\

I think it's another issues since that game you played didn't need high performance.
