What is wrong when Diskette boot failure comes up on the screen. I inserted a boot disk and hit enter, but the same thing came up again. What do I do?

Well, I don't know if this is the right forum either.

What OS are you using???

It's usual to insert a boot disk and reboot not hit Enter.  What are you trying to achieve and is the bootdisk for Win.98??
One good deed is worth more than a year of good intentions.

Your BIOS might not have the correct boot up sequence.

Are you sure it is a boot disk?

Did you restart the computer with the boot disk in the drive instead or just pressing enter?

What OS are you running?

More info please

Try a different bootdisk. Perhaps it's corrupt.

If you have wiped the drive clean there is no longer anything left .....so we use a win 9X boot disk .......It must have several dos files and drivers to make the cd drive operational........just a word of caution .....some boot disks dont have the necessary files on them to do the job......Go to Bootdisk.com and D/l the appropriate on .   Then things should go as they should.......You have formatted and reinstalled a operating system before haven't you or is this the first time ?
