    multiple window problem
    « on: October 07, 2007, 08:55:48 AM »
I'm here again with yet another problem..lol ::) today, I opened Ie 7 and windows live messenger, and the live messenger window stopped responding and it wouldn't close. I tried to end the program using the keys and that wouldn't work either. the only thing that works is logging off windows. then later I opened two IE browser windows, one stopped responding and did the same thing the messenger window did, freeze up on the toolbar and was unable to be closed/terminated. as a matter of fact it is still there..LOL :D

    any help suggestions?

Is your AV program up to date? Checked for spywares?

yes, I did a scan with spybot, and Norton anti-virus the other day, and it found a tracking cookie, and several spyware that have been removed since then. I may try another scan later though, to see if it missed anything. :) Thanks again!!!

Get also HijackThis, and post its log in "Computer Viruses and Spyware" forum.

...and you didn't try to turn off your computer manually? It's not a normal way to exit Windows, but sometimes it's the only choice. Maybe, you just need a restart.

I've had to exit windows manually before, mainly because of Java issues.
