Thank you Broni. I get to again in the morning. Right now I'm in Zone.com winding down with hearts and spades. :(

Okay! I think I got-r-done. I clicked on the HJT tool (A blaster and dynamite) I saved a lof file. I have two windows open. One is the log file page and the other is the HJT page with prompts. So has the scan already run or do I need to press the word "Scan" next to "Fit it"?

GIve me instructions for clsoing and saving this allong with other directives.

Choose the first selection which is "run a scan and save a logfile...HJT will now run.
When it's finished it will automatically open in Notepad...save the file by naming it : for example First scan and choose where you want to save it to. The default location will be in the HJT1 folder we created...this is fine.

Then post it here by copying and pasting it into a post. It will take 2 or 3 posts to get it all since the Forum has a limit on characters for each post.

Good Luck...you can do this !

Okay patio, you're confusing me again. Just first tell me, do I need to click on the "Scan" button next to "Fix-it" or has the scan already run when I clicked on the dynamite tool icon? There are two windows open with results in them or something.

One is in the task bar at the bottom of my puter as "hijackthis- Notepad. The other is Hijackthis - v1.99.1

Also, you say there is a default file. So, do I really need to make a file?

Then it has already ran if you have a Notepad file...Open that and copy and paste it into a post here.
It will take more than one post.

            OPEN IT???

            And that entails...

I told you patio, I don't want any misyakes on my part and that I'm not literate about this. So please don't just say open it.  Let me take a look at it to see if there is a click for "Open".

            And btw, thank you.

Is this the beginning of it.

              Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1
Scan saved at 1:17:41 PM, on 10/26/2007
Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600)
              MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180)

If so it is already open. So then to save it just open "file" and there should be a save in there. I'm not clicking anything until told to do so.

Okay, I'm going to make an a$$ of myself by a$$uming the log was already open since when I clicked it, nothing happened.

The page has been subplanted in Computer Viruses Forum.

Yes, click File>Save As, and save it wherever it wants to be saved. Just remember where.
Most likely, it'll be saved in C:\HJT folder, as "hijackthis.log".
Attach this file, when posting back here.
