Web Design software

I've been coding for 3-4 years.  Love it.  But, I've begun to wonder if I've been a fool-hardy purist.  After a few years I've got the underlying principals down; Should a person learn to use a drop and drag, or point/click style interface of web-design?
and if so what software is reputable?

Sure, you can use dreamweaver or frontpage to make a basic web page, but if you want to add any dynamic features to it, the code that they give you will make you mad while you try to edit the source.
Stick with hand-coding. It's the best way for advanced web page creation.
... and make sure you're using a good coding program that color codes stuff for you, it makes it a lot easier on your eyes. I use Notepad++.

With your experience, you'd be best to judge for yourself if using it would be  of some benefit to you.
If you eventually decide you don't like it -  when you remove it you've lost no money, since it is free.

BTW my text editor of choice (for Windows at least) is Crimson Editor.
also free, very clean.. not especially powerful.

I have heard that Emacs is out for Windows this year though... now that's power.
