I'm trying to delete some files and folders but it appear this error.

_______________________________________ ________________________

"Error deleting file or folder"

"Cannot delete <file name> : The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable"

What would I do? I tried restarting and unblocker but I still can't delete them.
Do I really have to format my harddrive to fix this?
Thanks in advance...

Are you sure that is the error message ? ?
Try re-booting into safemode and deleting them there...
What type of files are these ? ?

I tried in safe mode already.
It was still the same.
The other files are normal but just only these 3 files and a folder that I can't delete them. By the way these files are some tv series (.avi) I download from bit torrent.

Is there any program that would help? ???

Install "MoveOnBoot": http://www.snapfiles.com/get/moveonboot.html
Then navigate to those files, right click on one of them, and click on "Delete file(s) on the next boot". Repeat the same procedure for two other files. Restart.
See, if they are gone.

Unfortunately it doesn't work... :-[
It said
"The file <file name> either is locked or does not exist. Do you want to continue?"

I said "Yes"

After a few "next" I press, it said
"The operation failed. The following error occurred"
"The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable"

Also on the bottom right of my screen in system tray there is a yellow triangle with "!" said "The files <> is corrupt and unreadable. Please run Chkdsk utility.

 :'( what to do next?

I don't know what you installed, but I used "MoveOnBoot" before, and it doesn't display any message like:
Quote
"The file <file name> either is locked or does not exist. Do you want to continue?"
When you run "MoveOnBoot", it actually doesn't delete anything, because it's suppose to remove that file on next reboot.
If, after checking a file "MoveOnBoot" finds the file as deletable, it'll say:
Operation succeeded
If it finds file undeletable, or it doesn't find a file, it says:
Operation failed

The OP's exact message can happen if the file system on the disk is corrupted. It can easily happen to a USB disk if you unplug it during a file transfer or if the power goes down. It can also happen to an internal hard drive.

The OP should do what he has already been told to do.

Please run Chkdsk utility.

What are the names of the files you can't delete?  Try booting into DOS mode and removing them.  FIRST, the names :o :o

It was exactly on my external hard drive and my little brother unplugged it while I was downloading. Lucky me that the files that corrupt was not important.
Anyway I already format the hard drive and it's back to normal. ::)
    Thanks for your help anyway.

Teach your little brother about the importance of the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the tray...especially when it involves external HDD's.
