BIOS Help
« on: October 23, 2007, 08:23:45 AM »
Im running Windows XP Media Centre on a Dell Dimension E520

After i debugged the computer using Dell's commands , the XP installation finally finished, but when it went to restart to go to the rest of of the setup , i get a screen saying

WINDOWS\BIOSINFO.INF IS MISSING OR CORRUPT, PRESS R TO GO TO RECOVERY CONSOLE

Im guessing this is my problem , i updated the BIOS a few months ago, so using the XP disc i got from Dell, when i installed it  , its using the old BIOSINFO.INF file from the disc, with the new updated BIOS installed on the computer itself!

Would this be the problem? And if so , how would i fix it?

I would have to install the old BIOS ?  Or put a BIOSINFO.INF file from the new BIOS onto the system somehow...the computer wont boot up as of this so cant really get on to fix it easily

Please help
