Win 95 Install help

I have an old win 95 computer and i but a new hard drive on it and i deleated the other one, contain my MS files.   Then i re-installed Win 95 from  a Copied Cd-r of Windows 95 and it wouldnt work. i tried verious Boot disks and it still wouldnt go. I finally installed Windows but i then reset it; and it failed. I took out the new hard drive and then i couldnt even install win; the screen wouldnt come up. Just yesterday, i found an old '95 disk and that still wont work!
Can anyone help?

Windows 95 OSR2 CD, plus the Certificate of Authenticity that should come with it. If your CD did not come with a certificate, you should return it immediately as you cannot install Windows without the product code that is on the certificate.

well i cant get to the setup. how do i get to MSDOS?

You need Windows 95 startup disk: http://www.bootdisk.com/
Then follow instructions from here: http://cmmg.biosci.wayne.edu/dwomble/clean_install.html

Ask around (friends, neighbours). Some people have tons of them.

Well, in a couple of weeks im getting a 98 computer, but I still want to fix this up for a friend or my sister.
