Are you talking about search with an internet search engine or searching in Windows?

Use CCleaner. It will take care of all your browsing history.
Here's a guide on how to set it up:

If you want to configure your browser to stop storing your history altogether we need to know what browser you use.

The only way I know to do that in internet search is to go the route I have described  in an earlier post. You can also click "Auto-complete settings and fine-tune it there. You can also cancel auto-compete in Windows by clicking search, search preferences.

I just checked mine in IE and it's set at "user names and passwords on forms" and I don't have any auto-completes in google.

      Have you tried CCleaner yet?
What version of Internet Explorer are you using?
