Internet Explorer will not close.

Internet Explorer will not close down,you can everything else but close. Clicking on the red cross or right click in task bar neither of them will close the bowser. Using Windows XP Professional. have Run repair the OS,  check the options setting any help would be grateful.

Yes if I use "ctrl"alt" "Delete" I have not tried the other but will.
