Keyboard[driver] turns on/off

Ok i have a dell computer and windows xp professional and HID keyboard driver v5.1.2600.2180...
The keyboard is a usb, and yes i have attempted to put it into the other usb ports. Same result.

My problem is when I log onto my computer my keyboard randomly turns on and off... The keyboard icon disappears from the device manager and I cant type. The power to my keyboard is turned off...

It turns on and off at random; sometimes it will constantly do it and sometimes it will stay off/on.

When it does it the computer makes the sound its supposed to when something is unplugged from the usb port.



If you need any more specs i will be more then happy to give them to you.

Two other things to try:
- update USB drivers
- get USB to PS/2 adapter, and try your keyboard in PS/2 jack

I dont have a PS/2 spot...

Hold on im going to try to update my usb ports
