My laptop connection with the internet!

I've been trying to figure out what the problem is for the past month and a half.

My Hp laptop is running on Windows vista and has a wireless internet card.

My problem: I can access the internet but for only a couple of minutes or even less and the computer still says I'm connected to the router.

How is this possible?

If anyone could help me it would be great. Thank you

Try hard wire connection between your computer, and a router.
Try connecting your laptop straight to modem.

same thing happen to me,  sometimes it says I am connected but internet don't work, but still I can still play games online and download music from Ares,
