    No audio--

    im not a complete novice so i know to go to computer management for drivers under other devices (with the question mark) i have 3 things:

    Ethernet Controller
    Multimedia audio controller
    PCI Modem

    I would like to install the drivers for these three devices, mainly the audio controller, so i can listen to youtube with audio.

    Re-install your motherboard drivers...
    Did you recently re-install Windows ? ?

      My motherboard drivers are working just fine, but i did recently install windows XP sp2. swiching from linux--too confusing.

      download?

        wow everest is the one solution to all of your driver needs...

        IT says:

        Intel 82801DB ICH4 - AC'97 Audio Controller [B-0]

        I have no clue what that meant... but that was under multimedia-then PCI/PnP Audio.

        After doing some research I believe the below driver will work.
        I used Winrar extracted the files to a folder and they appear
        to be what you need.

          OK it said at the end of the installer (the one where when ur in the web browser and you click install now) it said Driver not found please reboot your system, etc. so i did and it still didnt work...

                Click Start, and then click Control Panel. Click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.
                Navigate to Multimedia audio controller entry, right click on it, click "Update driver". Wizard will open. Point it to the folder where you extracted your downloaded file.
