New Computer build/install
« on: November 12, 2007, 07:23:51 AM »
I have just assembled a new PC and just started with the Windows XP install, but I noticed as my clean machine is booting up, it does the typical scrolling the pauses with the following message: "Press F1 to continue or DEL to enter SETUP". I want my machine to boot all the way to WINDOWS. What did i do wrong in CMOS? Anyone got a fix for me?

Thanks,

Howard

First, never post your email address in a public forum unless you enjoy spam.

If you press F1, does the computer then successfully bootup?

Generally, you can just go into and out of the BIOS and default settings will work. If they don't, adjust them to suit your needs and then you'll be able to boot from the CD (remember to make the CD your first boot device). This happens with some new PC's on the first time you boot them.
