DVD Roms not in My Comp. or Device Mng...
    « on: November 13, 2007, 07:53:40 AM »
My DVD rom drives disapeared from my Device Manager and My Computer. I have XP Pro on a DigitalStorm gaming computer.
I have no red or yellow warning icons. Tried power-down and unplgging the cables to each, power-up then down and replug, then reboot...and nothing shows for hardware dectection. The drives do have power. Did a virus scan with a couple of manufactureres software and nothing comes up. Have SpySweeper and AV running all the time. What to try? BIOS settings?

Try a brand new IDE cable and double check your jumper settings...
master....hook it up to the end of the cable.
slave...hook it up to the middle connector.
