explorer display problem

just got a nice new pc but when surfing the web the web pages are only visible across 2/3 of the screen rest is just white screen .it is very annoying how do i set the computer to maximise the viewing of web pages so they cover the whole screen, any help appreciated

    You need to give us a little more info.
    What browser are you using? (Internet Explorer 6 or 7, Firefox, Opera, etc.)
    The white you mention is this the background color on the web pages you visit? Or is it white no matter what backgroundcolor the web page has?
    Do you by any chance have a wide screen monitor?
