« on: December 22, 2004, 02:57:55 PM »
Hey guys! I'm getting a friend a spyware program, but it HAS TO BE FREE. Does anyone here know of any spyware killers are are FREE and work REALLY well? (I usually would know about this kind of thing, but I'm not much of a freeware person) Also, NO TRIALS PLEASE! I need a full version. (His computer is REALLY MESSED. lol)

They both do different things and complement each other.

But it's not good to have 2 programs that do basically the same thing on the same computer at once, right? I just want the best spyware hunter...

They are made by the same company.  They don't do the same thing.  I use them both.  I don't have any problems with spyware.  I run Spybot and Adaware once a week to check if the system is clean.  They are all free

Ok I tried it, but I can't delete spyware. I NEED to be able to delete spyware if it comes into the computer. He already has TONS of it! Now, I just need to get rid of it. Once again, I need a full version of software that is free.  ;)

spybot s&d http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10289035.html?tag=lst-0-2

why would you only want one when you can get multiple, all complimenting each other, but if it must only be one then s&d , it gets pretty much everything, and has an alert for startup changes and such, quality program
