IE error has to close
« on: December 03, 2007, 11:49:02 PM »
The last couple of weeks I've been experiencing issues with my Internet Exploring needing to close.  Whenever I'm online I almost always have two or more IE windows open at the same time. When I close one window a message comes up that says IE has encountered a problem and needs to close, so then every open window closes. Very frustrating when I'm in the middle of a school research project :)

This is what the error signature looks like....it means nothing to me....but maybe it helps some of you to know what the problem is??...??

AppName: iexplore.exe    AppVer: 7.0.6000.16544    ModName: unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0    Offset: 03c80f75

Not sure what to do here, I've been using FireFox in the interim, but would really like to go back to IE, there's just certain functions that I really like (or am just used to).

Thanks for any help you can offer!
Jessica

Install Firefox, and see if you can use it without a problem.

Jessica,
I'm not quite familiar with that particular error message you're receiving.  Are you sure that's the correct Offset number?  Next time this happens, please verify that it is correct.  In the meantime, I have one possible solution that you can try.  Your problem has only been happening recently, correct?  A fairly recent hotfix has been causing
some issues with people's IE computers (mine included).  I've mostly seen IE6 being affected, but it could be happening with IE7 as well.  To fix my own problem, I downloaded the following hotfix...

Let us know how it goes.
