    Windows XP Clock Slow
    « on: December 04, 2007, 08:37:00 AM »
    Hello All!

    I need some help please. The Windows Time Clock on my machine is running slow. I have checked for spyware and such, but the system seems clean. I've also check the BIOS time and it is perfectly on time. Any time I reboot my computer the time on Windows time seems to be fine.. but as the minutes start to roll by the clock starts to run late. I also have set the Internet Clock updating with various servers which work fine but after a couple of minutes the delay begins.

    In short this seems to be a software issues because if it were the CMOS battery the BIOS clock wouldn't be continually on time.

    Any ideas

    Thanks

      Have you tried synching to a different time server?

      This was suggested to me by a tech colleague. He said there have been problems with the Windows clock since Windows 95.

      1. Start->Run cmd.exe
      2. net stop w32time
      3. w32tm /unregister (if you see an error message, type it again)
      4. w32tm /register
      5. net start w32time

        Now that I've tried all that I'll check if it's working properly... I also changed the CMOS battery... I wonder if it has anything to do with my RAM.. 512?
