My Computer
« on: December 01, 2007, 12:08:06 PM »
When I click on my computer I only get a list of drives , control panel, and shared docs. I don't see the normal layout that you see when clicking my computer. All the infoo for moving, copying, etc. that is usually on the left of the screen is gone. I just see a plain white page with the above mentioned items. How do I get the original My Computer page back?

Broni, your image is of Vista.  She has XP Media Center.  I believe it should look the same as My Computer is XP Pro.

gwuenn, can you make a screen print and post it, like Broni did?

I understand. I just gave her some similar look, since she said:

Is this what you want to see on the left side?

Click on the Folders button in the My Computer window; it's on the toolbar.  Did that do it?

No it didn't work. I still don'y see the blue colored window on the left that allows moving, copying files etc. Any other ideas?

In the My Computer window, click Tools --> Folder Options.  The first radio button should say something like "Show common tasks pane" and the second one should say something like, "Use Windows Classic Folders."  Use the first one.
