vista does not go into sleep mode

hello, i am having a problem putting my pc into sleep mode. i just built it about 2 and half weeks ago, and it has never worked and i dont know why.

my pc will act as if it is going into sleep, but it turns back on right away and functions normally and i dont know why... i haven't installed much on it at all. just a few games and messenger programs, and anti virus. even when i first built this thing, be4 i put most of the programs, it didnt work. i did mess with the power options but that didnt work either.

Something must be waking it up. It may be some hardware problem.
Try to remove your video card, and use your on-board video, and see, if it works.
Try another mouse. Is it USB mouse?

EMail phonong home?
Automatic Updates ?
Wake on LAN ?

Seriously there are a ton of reasons so i think we'll need more info.
