Have a problem with WWW
« on: December 08, 2007, 11:53:17 AM »
I am using windows XP . I use Yahoo .  This is new computer I just got from a buddy. He took the Computer to a MRI room to clean the Hard drive.  I have it now.  When I put in example att.com a *censored* web page comes up no mater what web page I put in.  But if I put in www.att.com , Att web page comes up. Can you help me so I can solve this problem? I won't let the kids have the computer until I can solve this issue.  By the way I have transfer things from the old to the new.

Thanks

You should run a Ad-Ware scan.
Most bad Ad-Ware is like that.

I know there is an anti-virus program called CA comes with the like parental control.  It should block all adult sites.  But I believe you can't really do anything about doing att.com or www.att.com.  Those are 2 different sites. Actually I just checked I am not sure what's wrong. Well, if you just got your computer, just re-install a windows xp and then  updates and everything should be fine. kk. Good luck.

    Disregard this "advice".
In any browser, no matter, if you type in: att.com, or www.att.com, you should land at AT& site.
You have typical browser hijack case. Follow my instructions.
