Swap the drive into another machine...if it does the same thing it is dead.
Why are you reluctant to try the solutions offered ?

    I'll try the tommorow because I need my cousin's help (bought the drive for me) and I tried ALL the solutions but they don't work

      guess what, you can't read a blank CD/DVD because they are- SURPRISE! Blank! Unless you mean to do UDF packet writing stuff with them.


      EDIT: oops, I see now that you are trying to burn to them I thought you where simply opening them in explorer.
      I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.
