You probably still don't have all OE settings set correct.  How did you get info for what you've already setup in OE for your email account?  Do they have specific instructions somewhere on their website?  If not, I'd say you need to contact them for that.  I found this page, http://www.sky.com/portal/site/skycom/contactus which may help.

I see they also have an online support via chat.  That's the ASK SKY feature on the above page.

In your original post, you said "outlook express".  But, you just posted instructions for setting up an email account in Outlook, not outlook express.  Which are you using?

I don't know what the asterisk refers to, but did you Save Changes on the Sky Email Mail Settings page?  I gather this is something you must do by logging on to Sky Email via your web browser.  Have you done that?

outlook express its the same settings for both

        Yes
All settings seem to set up to the letter ,but it keeps asking for username and password
when i try to send and receive

You can retrieve your Sky Email messages with a client or device that supports POP, like Microsoft Outlook or Netscape Mail.

To enable POP in your Sky Email account:

        1. Go to Sky.com/tools.
        2. Login with your Sky Email username and password.
        3. Select Go to Inbox to open your mailbox.
        4. Select Mail Settings at the top of the page.
        5. On the settings page, select the Forwarding and POP tab.
        6. In the POP Download section, select Enable POP for all mail or Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on – it’s your choice.
        7. Choose what you would like to do with your emails after you download them:
Keep Sky Email’s copy in the Inbox
        Archive Sky Email’s copy
        Delete Sky Email’s copy
        8. Finally click Save Changes.

You need to find step-by-step instructions for Outlook Express, just as you did for Outlook.  Surely, they have that.  Trying to take instructions for Outlook and applying them to Outlook Express is an iffy proposition.  The menus and screens are different.  So, again, you need instructions specificly for Outlook Express.
