« on: January 06, 2008, 12:11:26 AM »
Hi guys!!

I use Windows XP SP2.
Does anyone know of a good open-source alternative to MS Powerpoint?

Thank you.

Try OpenOffice
It's a free open source office suite, with replacements for Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access.

I second that. I've got OpenOffice 2.3 for Windows XP (on my laptop, MUCH smaller install than Office 2007) and Fedora 8 Linux. It's a great program and is pretty much compatible with MS Office.

Thank you quaxo and Calum.

I noticed that the download size for OpenOffice is large. Is it possible to download a single product instead?

Not to my knowledge. The installer includes all of the OpenOffice program files, but you can select which you do and do not want to install.
