Virtual PC & Ghost Image Question
« on: December 31, 2007, 03:05:50 PM »
Hello, I am looking for a way to get an old ghost image to work on Virtual PC 2007, and it appears that VPC creates the Virtual system correctly, but then it hangs at the Windows 2000 Pro SP4 start up after the progress bar at the bottom goes from dashes to solid.

I am guessing that this is because the image was created of my P2 400Mhz CPU system and the system running Virtual PC 2007 is a P4 3.0 Ghz CPU.

Does anyone know if there are any mods for VPC to tweak the image into thinking that the P4 is a P2 or if there is a better solution out there for getting images to run correctly on systems with major hardware difference, but still the x86 processor?

Thanks,

Dave
