      Try setting the incoming Port to 10110...

       It is already set to 10110 as default setting , how do you know it is actually working.

      In the Main window of AVG it will tell you if the e-mail scanner is on and functioning...

      Where is this setting?  In AVG?  I see no such setting in AVG.

      Control Center
      Email Center->Properties->plug-ins tab->properties->servers tab
      highlight POP3->modify
      or highlight SMTP->modify

      Is that it?

      Buried it pretty deep, didn't they?   ;)

      WillyW, thanks for the reply.  I don't  see Email Center in Control Center.  The Control Center shows a top menu consisting of File, View, Service, and Information. In the left side of the panel are three buttons: Test Center, Help Topics, and Check for Updates.  At bottom of the panel are two buttons: Scheduled Tasks, and Properties.  So, I still haven't found the option to set a port.

      Click View->Components

      Is Email Scanner checked "on" ?

      Edit:
      Sorry,  it has been a while since I played around with config of AVG.
      Fiddling around with mine here now.
      Try this:
      View->Components     Click on Email Scanner
      A new set of menus pops up.   "E-mail Scanner"
      Click   General   tab
      See   "Display component"
      tic that to be on,  and ok it.

      Yes.  But, if I open Properties for it, I see option to set a port.  Here's the Properties panel for Email Scanner:

      Configure...
      You can also select Advanced from the View toolbar.

      The View toolbar has no item called Advanced; it has Reduced Mode, Extended Mode, Components, and Refresh.

      Here's my Configure panel for E-mail Scanner; as you can see, there's no option for port setting:

      Yes.  But, if I open Properties for it, I see option to set a port.  Here's the Properties panel for Email Scanner:

      What's in that pull down menu "Installed Plug-ins"?

      Mine is displaying,  "Personal E-Mail Scanner".

      hrrmm...  I'm thinking that is the snag.

      Again, sorry... it has been so long since I installed and got it the way I wanted it...  trying to remember the next step for you.

      ...
      ....
      ......

      Scroll back up,  to that .jpg I attached.
      Have a look at it.
      When I deactivate the E-mail plugin,   my display look a little bit different from the screen cap shown.
      An "Activate" button appears just to the left of the Properties button.
      Do you have that?

      Further,  I don't have Outlook at all,   so I could be leading you down a wrong path.

      Next Pane select Properties.
      You should see this:

      Clik on Server
