Drop down box on internet search
« on: January 02, 2005, 11:40:40 PM »
An easy one here but obviously not easy enough for me to figure out.  Whe I am searching the net via yahoo or another search engine, as I begin to type in what I am searching for a drop down box appears of things I have searched for with the same letter.  How do I get rid of this?

Is this "box" an "AD"?

Sounds like you need to "clear History" and turn off "Auto complete".

Try moving your mouse ove the search entry so it is highlighted and pressing the delete key. You could try the Firefox broswer http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/ which has advance privacy tools in its options. I'm not sure if it removes the search histroy from Internet Explorer though.
