Windows Live Messenger won't work

My Windows Live Messenger was working fine until about 20 minutes ago, when it crashed, and now it won't go past the startup screen. It loads up the contact list, but that's it.

System Restore? Reinstal WLM?

try reinstall windows live messenger 1st instead of system restore.
