    I was wondering(and i know i ask alot of questions but im just trying to learn all i can so i don't need to ask questions) about having two computers in the home  and just having one cable modem would i just buy a  wirless router and if so anyone know anygood ones that i could maybe get from walmart?

    Any known brand: Belkin, Linksys, Netgear, D-Link...will do.

      I just got a belkin router but i need to know how to make it encrypted or safer than it is now cause i don't think it has anything to stop like neighbors  from getting on the network

      1. Open a Web Browser
       2. In the address bar type http://192.168.2.1
       3. Click on Security in the left hand column under Wireless
       4. Click Submit
       5. Select WPA-PSK (no server) from the Security Mode section
       6. Enter your Pre-shared Key (your choice)
      Note: You can mask your Pre-shared Key by selecting Obscure PSK
       7. Click on Apply Changes

         al right  i think that will work and if there any way you could tell me how i could wirless usb network adapter  that only works on xp onto vista?
        cause thats the comp that i need to hook one up on and it dosent work on vista and it can't connect to the internet with this usb working

          I only have on conected wired and then i tried to install the usb adapter and it didnt work on the other comp with vista

            well the other computer is in another part of the house  and the guy who sold it to me said i needed the router and a usb network adapter to the computer i wanted to have wireless , so now i have one wired computer that the router is plugged into and the other computer i can't get the internet on.

              yeah but it's not for vista so i downloaded the vista beta from the site and that won't work either

              Well, you'll have to go back to the store, and exchange it for Vista compatible network adapter.

                there are non for the router i bought so i have to call tech support or try and find a driver that works
