AMD Athlon Processor

Okay I was browsing the internet downloading some modding software when my browser lost connectivity. after a second or two it regained connection and went on my way. Then it just lost connection all together. I checked other programs that used the internet and none could connect. And after checking the labtop im on now i saw that the internet was still up. Which means its a problem with my computer. No its not a problem with my router cause my friends computer can also still connect.

First thing i did is of course restart. After that failed i tried clicking repair over local area connection. No luck then i tried releasing/renewing my ip address. When i tried that i was unable to renew my ip but after restarting my computer i got an ip address back.

I then noticed that my sent rate was WAY higher then my received rate. This sounds like a virus to me.

Norton Anti Virus (un renewed)
Windows Defender

I ran my Virus/Spyware/etc stuff but didnt find anything.

I was about out of ideas so i got help from a friend online. He had me download AVG antivirus and Sypbot Search and Destroy on a different computer then transfer with a flash dirve and install it, I found a few threats but after getting rid of them nothing changed. Then we made a list of all the processes running on my computer for him to look over. It was determined that all of them where safe.

Since then i have noticed that on the Networking tab of my Task Manager the graph bar stays at 0% then spikes to .03% then drops back down. It does this at near equal intervals.

Now im out of ideas. If it was a virus i think i would have found it by now, but of course i could be mistaken. It could be a hardware issue but i have no idea how to check to make sure.

   2. If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
   3. You will be asked to install an ActiveX, click the "Install" button (Note: If you have a Firewall install you may have to approve the installation)
   4. Once ActiveX control is installed click on the "Start" button to initialize the scanner
   5. After initialization is complete uncheck\untick "Remove found threats"
   6. Check\tick "Scan unwanted applications"
   7. Click the "Scan" button
   8. Once the scan is done, you will find a log in C:\Program Files\esetonlinescanner\log.txt

(If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download and unzip them from here: http://www.superantispyware.com/definitions.html.)
    * Close SUPERAntiSpyware.

    * Click the "Close" button to leave the control center screen.
    * Back on the main screen, under "Scan for Harmful Software" click Scan your computer.
    * On the left, make sure you check C:\Fixed Drive.
    * On the right, under "Complete Scan", choose Perform Complete Scan.
    * Click "Next" to start the scan. Please be patient while it scans your computer.
    * After the scan is complete, a Scan Summary box will appear with potentially harmful items that were detected. Click "OK".
    * Make sure everything has a checkmark next to it and click "Next".
    * A notification will appear that "Quarantine and Removal is Complete". Click "OK" and then click the "Finish" button to return to the main menu.
    * If asked if you want to reboot, click "Yes".
    * To retrieve the removal information after reboot, launch SUPERAntispyware again.
o Click Preferences, then click the Statistics/Logs tab.
o Under Scanner Logs, double-click SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log.
o If there are several logs, click the current dated log and press View log. A text file will open in your default text editor.
o Please copy and paste the Scan Log results in your next reply with a new HijackThis log.

This is outdated HJT version. It's OK with Windows XP, but next time, please run current version:
