Somehow my computer needs this file to get going and do not know what happened to it.Have lost the 98 disk for windows and can not reload it to get the file.Do not know much about this but kids comp will not go. Thanks for any and all help Chris Walter

This explains (not very clearly) how to restore vmm32.vxd from dos, but it will only work if the folder c:\windows\options\install or c:\windows\options\cabs is on your hard drive (you said the Windows disc is lost).
