The configuration registry database is corrupt.
« on: January 04, 2008, 09:01:30 PM »
My HP Vista has began loading and my user profile will not load.  The desktop reverts to error message saying.

Windows can"t load user profile and a temporary profile has been established.  When I look in event viewer the error codes 1502 and 1508 both say:

The configuration registry database is corrupt.  I am struggling trying to restore my desktop.  Please help!!!!!!!!!

I have tried everything I can find

Does it say anything else after:
The configuration registry database is corrupt
Usually there is some file mentioned.

Now, this might seem like a question almost not worth asking, but have you completely restarted since this issue?
(Vista users are being suggested, with such great power saving technology, to leave their computers in Standby. Thus, why I asked)

Vista will usually correct this issue on reboot.

(Broni: Would sfc /scannow work for such a situation of a file being corrupt?)
( The Buggles - Video Killed The Radio Star ... what a great music video)

If he has Windows CD.

I had similar error couple of days ago, when I was reinstalling Win 2K, and apparently, it was pretty ugly trojan.
