Remove double xp windows installation

I have Dell 8400 running XP operating system with 2 GB of ram

My Xp got currupted so I tried to fix it using origional CD, by mistake I installed it in new directory, so now I have two operating systems, One new verson and 2nd old verson.

New verson do not have any software installed so I like to remove new verson and fix the old one so I do not have to install all my software again.
Can anyone help?

Broni:

Double XP Windows problem is resolve. Solution was very simple.
Went to boot.ini file, located 2nd OS which was installed in folder call NEW.

deleted the folder NEW and changed the boot.ini to reflact that change and problem was solve.

But it created new problem:
All my updates are gone. I tried to down load and install all updates bur it want install.

What do you think is the problem? Can you help
