unclear image at monitor

I have an lcd monitor and its image became unclear. Could it be any software's fault or my monitor is damaged?

    By unclear what exactly do you mean. Also what were you doing before this happened.

    The resolution or refresh rate might not be set to the monitors native one. Check the manual from your monitor to find the native settings and set  your computer to that.

    It has a CD but I never used it. (it wasn't necessary). I'll try to install it.

    CD with what? Drivers for the monitor? It's probably better to get the latest version from the manufacturer's website. Do the same for your video card drivers.

    thanks a lot. installing the monitor cd solved it out.
    however, what could be the cause, because I never had to install this before in order to work fine?
